Read every word of it and fully understand, Five springers in, all have worked. The oldest, Jute, is 14 1/2 and I posted today a picture of probably his last working day. We have been leaving him at home for most of last season and all of this but his face when we put him in the car and he realised he was coming was unbelievable. His first retiring was probably 60 yards and he ran it and brought it back as if to say ‘See Dad, I can still do it!’. All of what you say is true about the breed. I am so sorry for your loss, and I feel ours will come soon, gone but never forgotten 🌈🌁.

oh my gosh! sorry for late reply, I don't use this profile much on reddit so I didn't realize I wasn't getting updates. What a sweet story, old Jute! That is amazing! Thank you for the kind words. The loss is so hard, I wish you the best. Sounds like they are getting to live full springer lives!

I’m heartbroken for you but so happy you owned two amazing Springers. The people on Reddit are always so kind and supportive; they were to me when we lost our Springer a year ago. I decided I’d never get another dog (as I’m 70) but soon we adopted a 7 yr old rescue Springer. He is such a lover boy; loves to lay with me on the floor and “spoon” close as he can get. I hope you get another Springer as there is one out there who needs you as its owner. Maggie and Walter - you’ll never be forgotten.
