So I was looking at the 1998 Max Payne E3 trailer and noticed this panel, apparently Max was originally gonna kill Vinnie in cold blood and with a massive smile on his face. Also, he says "you play, you pay, you bastard", a line that he he only says to Niagara in the final product. Very interesting.
