Apple Software Update downloads failing on Starlink

Over the last few months, I have been struggling to download software updates for macOS on my connection; it downloads a few hundred megabytes out of several gigabytes, before seemingly dropping the connection, causing the update to fail. Since macOS does not cache incomplete update downloads, nor are standalone update packages offered, this has effectively left me unable to install any feature or security updates for the system on my home connection, requiring me to visit a friend's house to do so. This behavior also affects the Windows version of Apple Software Update on my dad's computer, but does NOT affect downloads from the App Store on both macOS and iOS, nor does it seem to affect software updates on iOS. It also does not appear to affect any other connections; other than the software update woes, my experience has mostly been smooth sailing (a huge improvement from the 0.5 MBPs DSL connection I had previously). Is anyone else having similar issues, and are there any ideas what could be going on?
