Could Meri have theoretically walked away with half?

Thinking back on that 2014 scene of Meri signing legal divorce papers got me wondering. We all know Meri has made a lot of bad decisions, but was this the worst? From a purely financial and legal standpoint - could she have gone to war and walked away with half of the family’s financial value in the eyes of the law?
