Is the fight impossible, or do I just suck?

My brother and I play in a non-modded game. We just got to the Queen for the first time and it feels impossible. The horde is overwhelming and we are dealing very little damage to her. We both have carapace armor level 3, all our weapons are level three mistland weapons, and he’s using the magic staffs. The fireball one is the only one that did anything, but even with two of us running that staff, I feel like we won’t get very far. We dealt maybe 1/4 of her health because we were just overrun by seekers the entire fight. We weren’t really dying. Maybe once or twice each, but we were just exhausted of meads and food before we finally gave up. Am I missing something? Do we just suck? Is there a way to make the horde less overwhelming?
