can boys wear converse

so im 15 year old and i bought my first converse like 2 months ago even less and some of my friends told me that its gay and shit and like only girls and skaters wear them and like it looks good on me imo but idk it kinda makes me insecure and makes me not wanna wear them anymore so what do you think

Edit: i dont care that they say its gay all im saying is that they mock me for wearing them and thwy make fun of me
