"apps" extension virus

I'm not sure how, but an extension called "apps" was randomly added to my google chrome and won't let me remove it. It keeps on closing out chrome. Whenever i search I get redirected to a different website. No matter what I do I'm not able to remove it, due to it being added by an administraitor.
