Any split pea lovers on this sub?

Split pea with a cheddar drop biscuits, perfect for dunking)

Make 2 quarts of broth, preferably with a ham bone, though chicken works in a pinch. We use celery, onion, carrots, and thyme for our broth. (If you don't want to make broth, just use chicken stock - it still comes out great).

Rinse 1lb of dried split peas until qater runs clear then soak in cold water for 2-3 hours.

To your broth, add: 4 carrots 3 celery stalks 3-4 red potatoes Garlic, minced dried works great (measure with your heart) 3 tspn dried thyme 2 tspn Tabasco sauce 1 tspn white sugar 1 medium yellow onion 2 Tbspn lemon juice

Bring to a soft boil for 30 to 40 minutes.

Add 4 cups of chopped ham (add additional stock or water to desired consistency).

Simmer for another 20 to 30 minutes while you bake your biscuits.

Serve and enjoy!

This can also be thrown into a large crock pot for the day and you don't have to pre-soak the peas!
