Sol Fest 2k24 review
Greetings everyone. I attended the 2023 and 2024 iterations of this festival. I really hate seeing everyone’s horror stories but I had the complete opposite experience this year.
The only problem I can say I had in 2024 was the initial car line to get in on Thursday. It was an absolute sh*t show. Completely unorganized. Other than that, it was one of the greatest weekends of mine & my friends lives. Security was some of the most lax I’ve ever dealt with, and I’ve been to quite a few festivals all over the country. Which could be a problem because the car check person didn’t even touch anything in our car. Just peeked in and said “you’re good to go.” We didn’t have anything illegal but could have gotten ANYTHING inside.
The only foods I tried was the spicy Korean chicken, cbd slushees, and the coffee truck. All 3 were delicious! We cooked just about everything at camp. This was actually the first time I’ve cooked and ate as much food as I did and would 10/10 recommend. My body felt amazing all weekend.
There was a heavier police presence than I’ve seen at other festivals. But I never once witnessed them abusing power. In fact they were in the crowd helping us as we administered narcan to someone who was overdosing. I did see one person being escorted out in handcuffs.
The venue was okay, the venue in bama was SO MUCH BETTER. Way more intimate. The beach stage in 2023 is the best stage this festival has produced so far. But I’m aware the festival grows and that venue just could not hold the amount of people that attended this year.
The vibe was AMAZING both times I’ve been. I’m not sure if it’s just the crew I go with. But I’ve seen several posts about how the vibe was off.
Apparently the train siren going off all weekend was the commissioner?? I find that hilarious if true.
I had an amazing time. I will be returning next year with the same crowd. We’re 2/2 on Sol Fest so far. I do hope that it’s held in a different venue or state possibly seeing how many problems others had this time around.
