Silent hill hd collection ps3

Hello!

I am interested in the hd collection. I heard however that it has problems and that it was patched.

Does the game run well without the patch, only by installing it from the disc? I am asking for the moment when the servers would go offline(if they haven't already) and there would be no more patch to download.
