Why do foreigners want to learn romanian?

As a native , I never saw any reason why other peaple want to learn romanian since it is much harder to learn then any other latin based languages like spanish and french ,plus is less practical to learn since there are only around 20 mill native speakers , while spanish , for example has around 500 mill native speakers.
