People that “hate small talk” have ruined working in an office

Makes me want to wfh everyday because people simply do not know how to speak to each other anymore because of that attitude. I will be in a cubicle around my co-workers all day and I’ve given up any form of conversation even work related, my day consists of receiving and sending slacks to people 5 feet away from me, and the first “real” conversation will happen while we are waiting in a room for a meeting to start. I know it’s a two way street but I’ve given up on trying to carry every conversation so I’ve succumbed to the routine of slacking people 5 feet away from me all day.
