Why is finding a job difficult?

I see a lot of people struggling to find jobs. Which confuses me because there are soooo many places hiring. At least where I'm from in small town Ohio. But even people on the social media, people who don't live in Ohio, are struggling to find jobs. Why? I have been with the same place for almost 7 years, and I love my job. I say that because I think it's important to find a job you love. Is that the reason, though? People can't find jobs they love? They can't find jobs with good pay? They can't find jobs with good benefits? Are they looking for something specific? What does it mean when people say they can't find jobs? Because they're everywhere. I'm wondering because I've never been in a position where finding a job was hard, being that I've only worked at 2 places in my 24 years of existence. Can someone please provide a different perspective?
