UF where MC is a new shifter

Im looking for Urban Fantasy books (single or series) where the mc is a new shifter or becomes a new shifter in the 1st book. I dont care what type of shifter as long as any exotic shifter species has its unique quirks. (for example a snake-shifter that has to deal with venom...)

Romance is fine as long as its not the only plot or the whole thing is barly disguised pornography. 1 or 2 explicit scenes are ok. Couples can be whatever but I dont want explicit male on male sex scenes, thats just not my cup of tea.

Edit: A new shifter is either someone who just became a shifter or a born shifter that just had their first shift (if there are fitting limitations like age or similar)
