How many get hernias?

I've heard it said that given long enough the chances of getting an ostomy related hernia is 100%. My surgeon did not tell me this but he did tell me there is no way to strengthen your abs to prevent them and attempting core exercises will only increase the chances.

Just wondering if anyone has gone 10 years without a hernia?
