lots of negativity around it/its? (and why the hate is unnecessary)
I've seen/personally experienced a large amount of hate/negativity/general uncoolness around it/its, as a user of those pronouns. Some say it's disrespectful and dehumanizing, from both inside and outside of the LGBTQ+ community, and honestly, I don't see the point of being so rude about something that people can't control? Like, if an individual wants to be called it/its, you should just..call it what it wants to be called and not complain about it? It takes so much less effort to just accept and respect people's preferences, but some people are just out there, going out of their way to hurt people for absolutely no gain, so furiously like they're getting paid to wreck someone's day over a simple preference that they can't just "turn off". Like, you COULD lash out about it for no good reason, or you could ALSO just..git gud? Just get over it and accept it because it's not like someone's pronouns are running around with a knife or something and stabbing people randomly?
(Damn that suddenly got really silly at the end, idk why, maybe it's the new font I'm using on my phone)
Edit: wait what woah an award? I know this is super stereotypical, but thanks????? It means a lot to me that someone read this post, and thought positively of it enough to spend money to put a little grey icon on it. (I...don't actually know what awards do 😅)
