How to use oil burner pipe.

Hi, unrelated question but i gues you guys could help me out. Im trying to smoke 5 Meo D.M.T freebase from an oil burner pipe, but i've never used one before. So i dont realy know how to do it, and i just wasted a lot of material without not much effects. Do i just suck on it, all the time while heating it up ?
