Are ultimates like Magneto’s designed well?
Magneto being one of the few heroes with an ultimate having a potential drawback (able to be overloaded after a certain damage breakpoint and the second cast being entirely cancelled). I’m aware that Magneto being able to absorb projectiles is extremely strong against heroes like Iron Man, but then we have heroes like Luna Snow and Captain America who can use their ults and provide instant value at any point in time during a fight. Magneto’s ult has another layer of skill expression by either greeding projectile charge and letting it possibly explode, or casting it instantly for guaranteed damage. Do you guys think ultimates like his should be implemented with future heroes for more skill expression and healthy game balance? Or should ultimates just stay like ultimates and act as “press Q to win” buttons for simplicity?
