Planus and sclerosis?
I am waiting to see gyn at the end of the month. These issues have cropped up post partum for me, but I am wondering if I’ve had it for a long time and then post partum flared me up so bad .. because jt was SO bad. Unrelenting itch/burn. I was cut up and swollen, but also looking shrivelled. A nightmare. I have been working with a wonderful doctor from a sec health clinic and she put me on clob (and a less strong steroid.. beta something.. took that first, it helped a ton, but since we now expect it’s LS I’ve switched to clob). As well as estrogen cream. My issues have largely resolved - in that I am managing now and not all consumed by it. If I am diligent I am feeling pretty normal and my microtears have all healed now.
My question is about lichen planus. The other day I was self inspecting in the mirror, and I noticed 2 thin white lines going horizontally across my inner vulva. Like just behind urethra and just in front of vaginal opening. I actually thought it was discharge or something but then realized it wasn’t moving. Then I remembered that during one exam with the aforementioned doctor she asked if I had an iud.. she was like the string is here.. and then she said “oh..nope.. just discharge” and kept doing the exam. Now I realize this is probably what she was seeing. It sort of does have the appearance of a very tiny string. I looked it up and lichen planus came right up. It’s likely lines adhesion
Ugh. I don’t know why I feel so disappointed that I likely have that too.. like it doesn’t actually change anything about the treatment plan .. but it’s just a bummer. A few years ago (before kids) I felt like I had a good looking vag and was quite sexual. Now I just feel like an unattractive old lady (I’m 35 lol)
Anyone have both? Does this sound like it to you?
