Lost my track
Hi everyone! I’ve started IF almost 5 months ago, but about a month ago, right before Christmas, my family caught a stomach bug, the worst kind. Ever since then, I can’t get back on track with my fasting and calorie deficit. I was fine with eating my maintenance calories around Christmas for a few days, then I got PMS, then the kids were sick again so we didn’t sleep enough… there’s always something, and since I’m not in a deficit, I’m not losing weight. I’m the same weight as I was before the stomach bug. I’m happy that I haven’t gained any of it back (so far it’s 7kg). I keep trying to get back to fasting, but due to the bad sleep and eating shitty carbs, I’m finding it really hard to stick to it.
Any tips? Should I just rest for a bit at maintenance and be okay with not making more progress, or should I somehow make a shift in my mindset? Is it possible that I’m pushing myself too hard for too long? (1400kcal is not so little, but also not very much if I’m not fasting and eat 3-4 meals a day…) I know that many people stay in deficit for years before they reach their goal. I’m only halfway there… but if I can’t keep going, what else is there to do? How do I stay on track when all I want is sweets and carbs?! Help! 🥲
