Symptom relief after a colonoscopy

In 2021, I got diagnosed with stage 3 breast c.ancer at age 32 and had chemo, surgery and radiation. I was pronounced NED and have been on hormone blockers (Zoladex and Letrozole) since 2022 to prevent reoccurrence. My tumors were estrogen and HER2 positive. I’ve had pretty much every menopause symptom to some degree since then. In the last six months, after having been on the blockers for two-ish years, my hair started falling out in clumps, I was extremely bloated to where I looked pregnant constantly no matter what I ate or didn’t eat, and I gained about 10 lbs quickly. I had fatty stools and would poop three times in a morning and quickly after most meals. I had abdominal ultrasounds done, and there was nothing wrong found with my gallbladder.

I told my oncology people about my symptoms and was told that I complained about gastrointestinal problems more than most other people in my phase of treatment did. They sent me off to a gastroenterologist, and I had blood work and a fecal done and then an endoscopy and colonoscopy. They said the fecal showed I had norovirus, which I didn’t realize I had. They also said my thyroid levels were normal. They found inflammation in my esophagus and stomach, told me I had GERD, and prescribed omeprazole. I’ve had issues since I was a kid where if I ate a tomato-based sauce and exercised afterward, it would come up. But no issues recently that I could tell. I was told I “probably” had ibs.

The thing is, since I had the colonoscopy, my digestion is basically back to normal and the bloating has gone away. I asked the gastroenterologist about this and was told, “we hear that a lot.” My hair still falls out in clumps. I wouldn’t say I’m particularly stressed out or anything.

Has anyone else had any similar experiences? TIA
