Recommendations, please

I like my horror well written, serious (mild touches of preferably twisted humour or a few amusing one liners are fine) and lacking in loose ends. Bonus points if it incorporates a novel or previously unexplored concept, an intricate lore heavy plot, an atypical historical setting, or a military theme. Slow burns are fine, just not OVERLY slow lol. With one or two exceptions (notably Housebound, The Final Girls, the Cup of Tea segment of Kwaidan and the Box segment of Three Extremes), I usually eschew horror comedies and material where many aspects of the story are left unanswered by the time the credits roll. Not a big fan of found footage, either.

My top twenty horror films and top ten horror series, based on simply how much I've rewatched them over the years, are as listed below. There are others I enjoy too (I've viewed quite a number, both good and bad, throughout my time on this earth), but these are the picks of the picks. Additionally, my favourite horror authors are Clive Barker and Junji Ito, my favourite horror comics are From Hell by Alan Moore/Eddie Campbell and Garth Ennnis' Crossed series, and King Diamond is my musical idol.

With what I've mentioned above as a guide, please throw some recommendations my way, be they films, books, comics, TV series, whatever. With any luck, you'll mention something good that I've never tried before (the most recent thing Dreadit recommended to me that previously flew under my radar was All of Us Are Dead and I gave it a solid 3 out of 5 stars). Many thanks in advance.
