"smart" speaker for kids with push to activate?

Hi I'm looking for a screen free way for my tween to have a programmable alarm. Streaming music and all the other features of a smart device are a bonus

They don't like any light in the room, and I want to keep the screen devices outside of the room at night

I am uncomfortable with the "always listening" aspect of smart screens/speakers, so ideally if it could have a "push to activate" button to ask questions, set alarms etc
