• My I-797 is valid until June 30, 2026, but my passport expires in April 2025.
• My current I-94 shows an "Admit Until Date" of April 30, 2025, which aligns with my passport's expiration date.
• I plan to renew my passport soon while in US, but I’m unsure about the next steps regarding my visa and I-94.

My Questions:

1. After renewing my passport, can I continue to stay in the U.S. past April 2025 without traveling? Do I need to update my I-94 to match my I-797 validity?
2. If I don’t plan to leave the U.S. before April 2025, what’s the best way to get my I-94 updated? Is visiting a CBP Deferred Inspection Site the right option?
3. If I travel internationally after renewing my passport, will carrying both the new and old passports (with the valid visa) be sufficient to get a new I-94 that matches my I-797 on re-entry?
4. Are there any risks I should be aware of in this process, or things I need to watch out for when dealing with CBP or USCIS?
