Championship promotion is a nightmare

So I’m currently managing Wycombe and I’m in my fifth season (I think), and it’s an absolute nightmare to get promoted. Every year you get insane PL teams who get relegated that just don’t sell their players. For example, Wolves have gone down in my save and they’ve managed to retain Fabio Silva, Soucek, Pedro Goncalves and Pedro Neto. Their wage budget is 1.4mil, meanwhile mine is 200k. Anyone else find it an absolute nightmare trying to compete with these kinds of teams when you’re a tiny club? The board give me no help at all, my transfer budget and wage budget is created simply from me buying and selling, without that I’d probably still be fighting relegation every year
