Why is no one trying to buy my players?

I’ve been watching WorkTheSpace’s Park to Prem this year and have noticed he’s never had issues selling players, even his deadwood. By the time he got to League One he had multiple millions in the account whilst financing a 5* youth academy all from player sales.

I am managing Loughborough Students FC and have got myself to League One, however my biggest sale along the way is 250k. I have some big talents, but no one ever seems interested in buying them. I have one player in particular I signed whilst in the Vanarana North who was 18 and League One quality according to my scouts and coaches. I had a peak at his potential using the in game editor (shocking I know) and he had 181 PA! Yet not a single club has gone anywhere near him in the transfer market.

I’ve now hit a wall in the save, I need to sell players because my club is skint compared to every other team in League One yet no one will buy anyone. Any tips? Is it simply down to reputation?
