Upgrading from 32GB to 64GB of RAM completely eliminated all stutters in MSFS 2024
I wasn't actually sure if it would make a difference. The maximum FPS hasn't changed but the minimum FPS increased slightly.
But the biggest difference is I noticed on 32GB of RAM in planes like the A400M in London when I looked around the game would stutter for about half a second.
I was curious what was causing this so looked a the FPS monitor in game and saw the game was using 21GB of RAM. I only had 32GB of RAM and found Windows tends to use around 11GB.
I upgraded to 64GB of RAM and decided to retry it, and all of those micro stutters are gone. Interestingly even the micro stutters in the UI when not in a flight are gone... It feels like them reccomending 32GB of RAM is incorrect and it should be 64GB of RAM.
The game is running for me on High End @ 1440P at around 60-80FPS in London in the A400M. You can see its using 22GB of 64GB of RAM currently and 6/11GB of GPU RAM
My Specs:
- Ryzen 7 5800X3D
- 64 GB of DDR4 3200MHZ RAM
- RTX 4070 @ 12GB of GPU RAM
In game settings:
- High End Preset
- DLAA
- 1440P
Here is a video of me in london moving the camera around excessively and you can see there is never any stutters, before it would stutter likely crazy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUe7OY52KWo
