Clothing brands without PFAS/dangerous chemical treatments
I was researching period underwear a few weeks ago and in a review article of different brands of them I found out about PFAS, which can alter liver enzymes/giving you fatty liver disease and lead to obesity/insulin resistance/metabolic syndrome. (I should add that I don't think all chemical additives or treatments are automatically bad, I just mean the ones that evidence is building up a little that there might be a problem.) Then I found out that it's in many yoga pants (especially the moisture wicking kind) and water resistant clothing. Of course it's made to stay in the clothes over many washes so you can't just wash it out of your clothes before wearing. I was trying to figure out a brand for yoga pants where they didn't have it in their clothes but it seemed that most popular brands had it or had the potential for their clothes to be cross contaminated with it.
I found out today that H & M doesn't have it in their clothes and eliminated it in 2013. Do you know other brands that have eliminated it as well ? Are there any other chemicals/additives in clothes like this that I might want to be careful of as well ?
