Happy new year. Got my second dui Sunday.

My first one was 9 years ago. I’m bummed at myself.

2 questions:

1) always heard the first one goes away after 6 years. Is that real? (I’m in Kansas)

2) I didn’t get a lawyer for my first one and absolutely will this time. I just have no clue how people do that financially if you’re not wealthy. How do you hire a lawyer? I know I will ask the ones I’m going to be calling this but wanted to hear what you guys experienced too. Do you pay all up front? Do you use an app or a system to pay them or how does it work? I imagine I am not venmoing them every week.
