New England weekend getaway/new experience ideas for my dog
So my dog is my whole world, just like everyone else on here. He recently got a diagnosis of stage 2 CKD. He's only 5 and fortunately isn't showing many signs of it yet. He is still his happy self with endless amounts of energy. We don't know how quickly it will progress so I want to pack all of the life experiences he should have had into the time he has left.
I want to plan a weekend getaway for him along with my husband and I where the focus is on our dog's experience. We are based in New England and between pet friendly hotels and Airbnbs, we can go almost anywhere.
I'm looking for ideas for fun, unique, and awesome experiences for him to see, sniff, and do. He is extremely friendly towards all people and animals and isn't afraid of anything.
My list so far consists of:
hiking trails (although we are cutting his hiking sessions a bit shorter than before)
petting zoos (to see and sniff animals he's never seen)
a professional photoshoot with lots of action shots of him chasing his ball (more for me than him)
explore beaches (this will be more for spring/fall to avoid the heat) any recommendations for specific beaches or beach activities are appreciated.
