When the next season starts will all my eternal realm gear become legacy gear again?

I understand making old gear "legacy" when the seasonal update reworks some major function. Like adding tempering and masterworking or the stat squish. However I do play a lot on the eternal realm because I don't play enough to min/max characters during the span of a season and there are a couple of characters on the eternal realm that I enjoy playing and slowly working on. But I don't see the point of continuing to play the game if I have to start over every season even on the eternal realm. I thought the whole point of the eternal realm is that it doesn't reset every dew months.
