Why is there no new celebrities?

After watching the Avicii Netflix doc I think, why don't we have new celebrties?

Films are filled with actors already known for a while (except a few such as Timothée Chalamet), I seem to find no new DJs or musicians like Avicii.

Is this because of social media? Maybe I don't see it because there is too much of it? Is the world just not interested in celebrities?
