Why are young people not joining dahlia societies?

I’ve noticed the lack of younger people at multiple dahlia societies and shows. At a regional show I might see a few younger people showing in their 30s 40s but it’s rare. 99% of my society is over the age of 55 and 80% are over 70 it seems.

I’m afraid the dahlia societies are going to fizzle out eventually. What makes the societies unattractive to younger people? What can be done to keep growing our dahlia obsession with the next generations?
