Grandfather was an avid coin collector and left me TONS of coins. This one was in his safe. I’ve gotten mixed values from online and calling pawn shops. What would this actually be worth?

This is an 1853 1 dollar gold coin that seems my my grandfather bought for $290.00. No idea where or when it was bought, this was in his safe. It looks to be in good condition. I’ve gotten quotes from pawn shops for between $90-$120. I’ve also seen this same coin on eBay listed for thousands of dollars. I’m not sure where to get an honest appraisal. What does everyone here know about this coin and how much it’s worth? Photos in comments, forgot to add them.
