Has your family ever pressured you to have kids?

A friend of mine recently told me that his mother was pushing for him to get married so he could have kids and she could be a grandma. He has said to me on multiple occasions that while he wants to be a father he doesn’t feel it is right to bring a child into the world with how fucked up it’s gotten. My mother and father have never pressured me to have kids. They both supported my decision to have a vasectomy at 24 years old. They both told me all they ever wanted was for me to live a life that made me happy. I always thought that was normal, but hearing my friend’s story has me wondering if his mother is the exception to the rule or if mine is.

Note: I know that the pressure is different for men and women but my parents have similarly never pressured my sister.
