Hi I came across OCG book (QoS section) and dont know the math how he get to 50 packets per seconds. Appreciate help on this. “If you work through the math a bit, this single call, with the G.711 codec, requires about 80 Kbps of bandwidth (ignoring the data-link header and trailer overhead). Counting the headers and VoIP payload as shown in the figure, each of the IP packets has 200 bytes. Each holds 20 ms of digitized voice, so the phone sends 50 packets per second. These 50 packets at 200 bytes each equal 10,000 bytes per second, or 80,000 bits per second, which is 80 Kbps.”
