Is there a (somewhat) definitive answer at what separates the Pros from the Joes?

Now obviously I'm not talking about the Messis and Ronaldos. More so your average pro in top flight soccer. The guys who are never a household name, but hang around for a decade bc they're still very solid players.

Reason I ask this is because, for example, the best dribblers aren't in the pros. I've seen countless pros be in absolute awe over what street guys can do, or guys they grew up playing with could do. So what is it really that sets these guys apart?

My own opinion is that it largely comes down to IQ and consistency. The pros may not be at their absolute best every night, but they will nevertheless give you high quality on a very consistent basis. I've also seen players and others that say it's the IQ that really does it. Which, makes sense. All the talent in the world can't make up for someone that makes almost nothing but bad decisions. But even then, what are those decisions that make the biggest difference?

What are your thoughts?
