APA Rule question

There is a 9- and 8-ball team that play on the same night (same home bar). Both are traveling, but this session, our schedules have coincided where we're at our home bar alot on the same weeks. There are only 2 tables and one is pretty much on top of the stage where a particularly loud and awful open-mic night goes on until about 10 (we'll call that table 1, and the other table 2). The 8 ball team has claimed the table that is further away and designated it as "theirs" even when one of our team happened to be there first last week and tried to set up at table 2. Once members of the other team showed, she got shooed away. During our match, one of the members on the team we were playing mentioned that's against APA rules to have a "claimed" table as that might give them unfair advantage, etc. (None of us are thrilled to always be right next to the stage, and it definitely gets in the way of playing) - we don't mind taking turns, but this entire session, we've been stuck in this shitty area. Is this a rule, and if so, where can I find it? I tried downloading the APA rulebook, but my phone was being wonky. Thanks for any help!
