To My In Laws
To my FIL: Thank you for being the first person outside of my husband to validate how terrifying it was for me to have to be induced at 34 weeks. I hated that it was hard for you to see me curled up in a hospital bed with an oxygen mask, a urinary and intrauterine catheter, and three different medications being pumped into me, but I was touched to hear how much you cared. Thank you for assuring me that all I needed to do was rest and let my husband take the reigns after the birth, and thank you for the barbacoa and chocolate ice cream you gave me before I was moved into the postpartum ward. Thank you for always making sure to ask about how I'm doing before asking about my daughter, and thank you for actually giving me (!) a Christmas gift instead of soley focusing on my daughter.
To my MIL: Thank you for enduring a 12 hour bus ride to stay with us for a week so my husband and I could get some rest. Thank you for watching her so my husband and I could have date nights and run errands as just the two of us. Thank you for staying concious about not being too interfering when it came to our parenting - that being said, yes I'm wearing the faja and yes we're making sure she's dressed warm 😂.
