What is it about the bay area??
Ok so im from nyc, i just turned 19, i live with my family in a big apartment complex in a compound in brooklyn, and we're super comfortable. I decided to stay a semester in the bay area for college cus my boyfriend got a job offer as a software engineer and he just had to go and he wanted me to go with him. now ive always idealized california as a beautiful place but never ever thought of the bay area as a desirable place, ive just wanted to live in southern california cus its the only placed i visited and i admired it immensely. upon arriving here i was fucking stunned, literally. now people always told me that people from different areas adapt to certain techniques, mentalities, comforts that truly affects their quality of life and satisfaction. growing up in ny, im normally always rushy, super cautious, and used to extremely shitty behavior from locals/ppl. ive never believed in stereotypes of people from different cities but i honestly do now. people here are fucking angels compared to where i was, even in work/college, people are extremely friendly, calm and give off this positive energy. ive toned down my attitude a bunch, and most importantly i found myself finding satisfaction in little things. also, the bay area is so fucking beautiful my god. San Francisco is unlike any other city ive ever visited, and i travel alot. its like a mix of paris, ny, and amsterdam with the hills and shit. the friends ive met here look at me real weird due to my obsessive admiration with the bay area. and coming back to ny, my family were incredibly surprised my new attitude, they thought i was on drugs but i weren't. also the weather is beautiful, and stable. in ny, when its cold its extremely cold, and when its hot, its too hot, do devious. honestly, i wanna stay here forever and hopefully i will. i really do 'envy' people who grew up here, and live here. now ik not everyone is the same, but my perception of the bay area is pure admiration and im always in awe by its beauty, its culture, its progressiveness, and its innovation. im currently back in ny but god do i miss the bay area and cant wait to return.
