Automatico- Smg/08 replacement?

I just hopped on a server today (Xbox) and ran into a bunch of clans, like XS. Of course, losers are still using the SMG/08, but I realized that a lot were using the automatico. I didn’t catch what type, even known I couldn’t spawn without getting a million bullets in my face. (That means I suck and I died a lot.) But is this the new SMG everyone is using now?

Edit: I’m not complaining about it being overpowered, I’m just wondering if/why it’s being used a lot more now.
