i wish some autistic people would stop acting like everyone is supposed to be like them

i’ll keep it really short but i have moderate support needs and have never met anyone like me in that regard. a lot of the autistic people i know know how to mask which i don’t and have an easier time picking up on social cues than i do. when i explain to them “sorry i didn’t ___ it’s because, yk, autism” or “sorry i have selective mutism” they’ll say smth like “okay well i’m autistic and i don’t have that issue!! i’m autistic and i have no trouble speaking!! get over it!”

maybe i can’t fathom that some people’s autism doesn’t inconvenience them in the way it inconveniences me.

hopefully once i change school i’ll be exposed to more open-minded people 🙏🏽
