Neighbours butchered my Mulberry tree - how likely is it to recover?
After/Before. We discussed trimming back the overhanging branches, I came home from work to find every leafy branch stripped from the primary trunk and half the secondary trunk. Basically it's an eyesore now. Their arborist told my wife it was 'pollarded' and would grow new branches. I am... unconvinced. Anyone got a opinion on the likely prognosis for this tree? Even if it grows new shoots, is it going to look like crap? Every image of a pollarded Mulberry tree I google looks like broccoli.
