Does anybody love the magical fantasy aspect of the books but hates to imagine them looking in-human?

I love reading magical fantasy it as soon as they describe the characters to look different from humans I get so grossed out and find it so difficult to picture them in my head. And I absolutely hate the ears. I have to imagine them as shadows in my head or I have a hard time reading the book. Please tell me I’m not crazy or alone.
