Opinions on 3M film?

So far I haven’t heard anything good about 3M film. I hear it starts fading and bubbling really early. My buddy who owns a shop says to completely avoid it, while my other friend got his car tinted in 3M film by a 30+ year experienced tinter. I’m just wondering what the general assembly of tinters on this sub thinks about it overall.
