Vyvanse with guanfacine/Intuniv or clonidine/Catapres vs beta blocker
Hey y'all,
For those of us who are taking guanfacine/Intuniv or clonidine/Catapres with their Vyvanse, has it been useful at reducing some of Vyvanse's side effects? I'm talking specifically about tachycardia, secondary Raynaud (legs, feet and hands) and post-crash anxiety.
My situation:
For the last few months, I've been taking 40mg of Vyvanse with 2.5mg of Nebivolol/Bystolic.
Long story short, I'd like to ask my psychiatrist and GP to switch me from my actual beta blocker to either guanfacine or clonidine.
The beta blocker has been doing a great job at counter balancing the usual Vyvanse side effects (in my case, tachycardia). At first, I tried some propranolol which did the trick. But it amplified the secondary Raynaud cause by my Vyvanse. My GP consulted a cardiologist and switched me to nebivolol, which reduced said side effect while still taking care of the secondary tachycardia.
The thing is that I'm pretty sure that the beta blocker influences my mood and energy negatively. Besides that, I'm also still quite annoyed by the secondary Raynaud (as I can't sit for a few min without having to deal with it down my legs and feet).
As I'm still trying to find the perfect med combo, I'm more than curious to know if some of you had some good outcomes with guanfacine or clonidine. Even more so if you switched to either of them from a beta blocker.
Thanks for your feedback on this!
