How hard is it to get a placement in your placement year?

For reference I’m doing cs, I have a few side projects but nothing crazy, Honestly my best weapon is the fact I did a project for a external client in our classes which was part of our module

I currently finished a 2.1 first year and I’m wondering if my situation is bleak. Getting a placement without much of a portfolio
