What policies would directly reduce sexual assault of women?

I'm a guy who's lucky enough to have a lot of female friends. More then one of them has had bad experiences with men. Almost all of them agree that they are scared/nervous around the average man on the street. How do we fix this? Theres obvious stuff like teaching our kids whats right and wrong. I'm talking about quicker solutions though.
