Strength training via Supernatural?
I got my MetaQuest 3s last week, subscribed to Supernatural immediately and am LOVING my workouts so much each morning. I was sedentary for most of last year so this is incredible. However, I had a doctor’s appointment today. I’m 43F and about 50-60lbs overweight depending on whether I’m aiming for the high or middle range of a healthy BMI. The doctor said to focus on strength / weight training over cardio given my age and gender. I actually WANT to workout with Supernatural so it was a bit deflating to hear her say cardio is a low priority.
Question 1: do you think boxing has elements of strength training in it or am I just reaching here?
Question 2: I have approximately 45 minutes to myself every morning. Given that I don’t want to give up my supernatural workout, do you think 30 minutes cardio + 15 minutes strength would do the trick? I have an apple fitness subscription so I could do a short strength class. Or would it be better to alternate my mornings?
I have been pretty much rotting for a very long time so I know the main answer is that whatever gets me moving is good. But part of taking care of myself has to include listening to my doctor. Advice?
