Has anyone else struggled to get into Crescent City?

I've started reading Crescent City after absolutely loving both the ACOTAR and TOG series.

Sadly though, I find myself really struggling to get into this story.

Has anyone else felt the same way? For those who have finished the first book (or even the second) is it worth pushing through? Also, when does it get spicy?! 😂
